You already have a car right? Now you need to decide which bicycle rack will be right for that car and for the number of bicycles you need to carry. This article will explain in a bit more detail about the three main types of bike racks and which cars they are best suited too. 1. Roof Top Bike Rack If you really want to look like a Tour de France competitor then go for the roof top bike rack look! Most pros use these because they need the trunk space and any extra space to fit more bikes in. This option is suited to people who dont mind climbing up on top of their vehicle to load and take off their bikes.
The Right Up 2 or Hitchbiker 4 would be a good choice for a 4 bike rack to mount on a receiver hitch. As you can see you cant go wrong with a Bell bike rack on your car. If you are a cyclist and own a sedan hatchback or any other car with a trunk a trunk mount bike rack is a great option as a rear bicycle carrier for your vehicle. Even within this type of auto bike rack there are many brands and contenders. But there are some important things to consider when choosing the best trunk bike rack for your bicycle transportation needs. Knowing how each type of trunk rack for bikes varies will help you choose the right carrier system.
Also if I sell my vehicle and buy something without a spare tire on the back of it the bike rack will no longer be of use to me. If I had bought a receiver hitch bike rack I could move it around from vehicle to vehicle (assuming they have a receiver hitch). The other reason I wish I have bought a receiver hitch bike rack is the number of bikes you can get on the rack. The spare tire bike racks are limited to two bikes. You can get versions of receiver hitch bike racks that can hold 3 4 or even 5 bikes. Its not that big of a deal when you are bicycling by yourself but when you start hanging out with other bicyclists it is nice to be able to get more bikes on your bike rack for getting away from your usual bike rides.
