Whether you are just an avid user an adventurer or commuter different bike racks are available depending on your needs. An indoor bike rack is the most common. This type of rack is often seen in bike stores. It comes in two forms the wall-mounted rack and the double-decker rack. The wall-mounted rack is attached to a wall making a bike stay in an upright position avoiding bends. The double-decker rack however can accommodate a lot of bikes at the same time. This can be very convenient for those who want to save space. The outdoor bike rack on the other hand is dependable in keeping bikes safe and steady in the outdoors.
This is because the carrier is designed for general frames and not for ladies bikes kids bikes a tandem and so on. Be sure to ensure that your bike frame and size will be best suited to the rack you choose. 3. Choose a bigger rather than a smaller rack Bikers get so into their riding that they often rope the whole family in. So if you are planning on only getting a bicycle carrier for one or two bikes maybe think of getting one for 3 bicycles. They are not that much more expensive and you will most likely find yourself inviting a friend or family member along because you have the extra space for friends.
While I cant tell you exactly what your rack needs are I can point you to someone who can: Thule. Whether youre going to end up purchasing a Thule rack or not you will find the Thule website (Thule.com) is a great source for figuring out what style you need. This website was very useful in helping me choose a new roof bike rack and I highly recommend doing some research on this site before making a purchase. On the Thule site you can select what kind of rack youre looking for (bike rack ski rack base rack etc.). First youll want to select bicycle rack and then select the load capacity youre looking for(1 2 3 4 or 5 bikes).
